I have to say that I love Derren Brown for his showmanship and the genius behind all of his tricks. In my opinion he bests any other out there in showmanship. On the other hand, Dynamo has such cool tricks and clever ways of performing them, dynamo has a great sense of audience management and knows how to misdirect them while he performs a sleight, plus he has an awesome flourish. Two great magicians/mentalists, and both are from England! :)

Derren Brown. I've been to two of his shows and they were AMAZING. Blew me away completely.

DYNAMO. He walked on the thames, it doesn't get any more awesome than that.

Teller. And perhaps his sidekick Penn. Two awesome magicians who are known globally for their magic.

I don't get the haze around Dynamo at all. He lacks presentation skills and charisma and is in no way original (Criss Angel walked on water before him, the breaking bottle is just a gimmick anyone could buy, he also relies heavily on camera edits,...). To be honest, with little to no research I know exactly how does 90% of his tricks and I'm not even very with that kind of magic. His flourishes are okay, though.

My favourites are:
Presentation: D. Brown (fools me every time) and Penn and Teller (fool me most of the time)
Charisma: Apollo Robbins, mismag822 (just kidding)
Flourishes: Dan & Dave and Daniel Madison
Tricks: Wayne Houchin, Rich Ferguson and of course The Professor Dai Vernon

I've seen some great routines in Penn and Teller's Fool Us as well

I'm not sure about Dynamo, he seems to just be a guy that has studied magic and then been given a chance to appear on television. He lacks presentation and originality.

However i'm bias as I prefer stage performances and the thought of Dynamo on stage is just a joke.

Credit where it's due though, his hand-eye control is fantastic producing excellent flourishes and sleights. I'm sure he entertains and causes astonishment to most people he meets and that is our goal - how we get there is our choice.

I have to say,

I am beginning to see things in the way that you and ISteiner are. Though, I still very much respect him for entertaining very well as a magician, I have noticed that I can name most of his tricks, or have figured them out.
He does need to thoroughly work on his showmanship and presentation, but it is (as i am sure anybody who has performed live can say) not easy at all to focus on your wording and sleights in front of a massive crowd, in front of thousands of people who watch you on TV and in front of your fans.
I also do not like the fact that Dynamo does use 'Stooges' quite often. However, a magicians job is to present us with magic that entertains us and keeps us thinking for a while, Dynamo does this very well.
To be fair though, he has done some pretty cool stuff, like when he walked through the window, his card tracker tricks, vanishes and creating his own style of magic. He also had a pretty rough childhood in Bradford and I thought it to be an inspiration that he still came out to be a world renowned performer, despite being bullied and picked on through all his childhood.
One of the reasons I still like him is because he is a street performer and I, do prefer street magicians.... But Pen and Teller are beginning to swing me towards the stage magic, the more I watch of them.

Now that I've had time to think of it, Derren Brown still owns showmanship for me, so he's right up there. However, 2 people have smashed up to the top.

1. Penn and Teller
1. Ponta the Smith (joint 1st)
2. Derren Brown.
2. Lance Burton (joint 2nd)

Ponta isn't well known enough and I haven't a clue why. He's smooth as silk and is just purely brilliant (Yet again, check out his playlist in Frenchdroptube's channel, my personal favourites are the Vanish, Winged silver and 3 Fly, also his retention vanish makes me cry it is THAT good (see it at it's best in transposition, again in his playlist) ). . I can't stop watching his videos, though I know the ones from Sick, they just click with me and make me want to watch them over and over again.

Lance Burton. He is always there when I need to be amazed. ALWAYS >>>>>.<<<<<< Full Stop.
