We understand how difficult it can be to learn some tricks, so we really take the time to construct our lessons step by step for you to pick it up as easily as possible. We use our own entertaining, unique style of teaching and go through all the necessary steps required to master each and every move in detail.
For us, we initially started our magical endeavours learning from books. While they are a wonderful place to learn a huge amount of tricks from, we understand how difficult it can sometimes be to interpret the instructions when delivered in writing. As you would all know, magic is a very visual art, so picking it up through text and pictures can sometimes seem impossible! From here, we moved over to learning from visual media such as DVDs. This solved many of the interpretative issues from books and made the process much more efficient. Being able to see exactly what the movements are and being able to mimic them made it infinitely easier and more enjoyable. However, the major downfall that we encountered with DVDs was that they are often very expensive, and only contained a very limited selection of effects.
We have come to realise that times have changed, and technology has advanced to a stage where we now have an even better option. We have taken the best from both worlds and created a service, the first of its kind, that teaches through High Definition video tutorials. Whatmore, you have access to not just one field of magic, but all different areas of magic! It is very much like coming in to a library and being able to select and learn anything you like, without first having to decide and pay for each one. For example, if you wanted to try a certain area of magic, but was unsure as to whether you will like it or not, you would've normally had to go and purchase a book or DVD before trying it out. With our service, once you are signed up, you are free to access any and all areas of magic to really experience it for yourself.
At Encyclopedia of Magic, we are also all about quality. All our video tutorials are filmed in High Definition, with studio quality lighting and sound capture, and the most comprehensive video editing that covers all the aspects you will ever need to learn an effect. With front on explanations, alternate angles, close ups, and over-the-shoulder view, we really cover all angles... literally! With each of our tutorials, we not only explain the technique behind how to execute the handling, but we go in depth and highlight certain tips and knacks that will make the learning process as easy as possible. Not only that, we make sure you are aware of all the most effective angles and situations in which to perform it.

Our archive of magic effects has been organised in such a way that you will never be at a loss to find what you are after. Each routine will clearly outline all the necessary sleights or knowledge required for it, with links that take you directly to the relevant tutorials. Furthermore, you can browse the archive for your favourite magic niche, or explore the different magic categories that are available. Each tutorial is ranked in terms of its difficulty, so there is a place for everyone to go! From the new beginners of the art all the way to the veterans, there is material that you can progressively pick up to increase your repertoire. If there is a specific trick you are after you can even run a search for it, and if it isn't in the archive yet, make sure you put in a request for it! As a community, we will strive to make it available for everyone within!
Last but not least, we realise that magic is really as good as the person performing it. We strive to encourage each and every person learning to not only work on practicing the tricks, but in the presentation of it. Becoming a competent performer is a skillset that is invaluable to anyone, and the confidence and positivity it brings is very empowering. The best part is that these skills that come from learning magic are not limited within the field of magic.
